Hello all
Please be gentle with me, It's my first time on here. I bought a new-ish laptop as my old one is dying through lack of ram. The new one does not have windows xp - the old one does how do i transfer the xp from the old one to the new one? i have the product code - but no discs would really appreciate any help with this, am going nuts trying to do it on my own many thanks Ladybird40 ps i'm not very technical |

I don't understand your comment dying because of a lack of RAM. They don't die, they will just be slow. Bottom line is you can't. You will need to buy a retail version of XP. BG |

oh damn
i hoped that that wasnt the case my old lap top got slower and slower and just wasnt up to the job anymore - no one can live with 512 gig of ram, and it weighed a tonne!! ta babe |

There is nothing wrong with 512 of RAM in XP, most likely you have too many things loading on start up. I run a XP Home and XP Pro with no problems on 512.
