Re: Everythings bold + Italic
To fix this issue follow these steps:
1. Click Start > Run. 2. In the run box, type: C:\windows\fonts (Replace C: with the drive letter where the OS is installed) 3. The fonts window will open. Click Alt+F to activate the menu. Click Install New Font in the menu. 4. In the folders dialog, browse to C:\Windows\fonts where C: is the OS drive letter. 5. All fonts would now appear under List all fonts. 6. Click Select All and then click Install. 7. Confirm the windows permission dialog. 8. A replace file dialog would appear. Click on Yes to each and every dialog that appears. This will ensure that fresh entries for fonts are written in the registry. To avoid clicking, press and hold Alt key - then press Y key for every dialog that appears. I think this will get you back to normal.

Re: Everythings bold + Italic
Open Display in Control Panel. On the Settings tab, click Advanced. On the General tab, in the DPI setting list what are you currently set at?

Re: Everythings bold + Italic
96DPI. I also noticed that in my Registry under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts] For default the value is not set. Should it be set to something?
![]() Also, Arial is set to bck.tff which is a backup i had of something that i deleted, i can't modify arial in the registry or it says "Error reading values contents" |

Re: Everythings bold + Italic
For default on my machine the value is not set also so I believe that should not be an issue.

Re: Everythings bold + Italic
Ok i have a question, if i put in the windows XP CD and press Install windows XP while im into XP, and i choose "Upgrade" what exactly will it do? will it do a clean reinstall of XP but keep all my music/games/programs? If so, i think im going to do that!
Thanks!! |

Thanks!! Do not try installing Windows while booted in Windows. Just to verify we are now down to just some things showing in italics and we have completely eliminated the bold issue?

Re: Everythings bold + Italic
Certainly you first need some sort of backup media ie:flash drive, portable hard drive, DVD/CD back up all important files and folders to whatever backup media you choose then when all done start with the format and installation.
