Disk defragmenter can not start

"Disk defragmenter can not start" message appears when attempting to defrag a hard drive. Disk defragmenter works on removable disks fine. What can be done to repair disk defragmenter?
Thanks.

Re: Disk defragmenter can not start

You can try to reinstall the Disk Defragmenter:

Go Start > Run > Type in:
Code:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\dfrg.inf
There are also free defragmenters out there that you can try..
