Windows XP pro installation
Recently I acquired a virus on Windows XP Pro OS to where i decided to reformant and reinstall windows. Using my old Windows XP Pro (SP3) disc, I tried to use that but remember i didnt have the original license key. I would get stuck at the point where it asked me to enter that key and couldnt continue. I went out and got another windows XP (SP3) disc and tried to use that to reinstall windows. I set my bios to boot from CD and it keeps taking back to the original installation of windows with my old windows xp pro sp2 disc. I can't make my cpu not try to install the old windows xp pro disc no matter what i try. I reformatted from a slave drive the drive im trying to put the new windows on and still goes back to the installation process of the older windows version. Any ideas how i can make my cpu NOT try to continue the installation of the windows where i do not have the license key for and use my new disc?

Re: Windows XP pro installation
Yes i put in a slave drive and reformatted the HD a few times, still brings me right back to resuming the installation of my old windows xp pro disc when i boot from CD.
I'll try the killdisk suggestion, never heard of that, thanks. |
