I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to systems and such, so here goes...
So I'm in My Documents or any folder, really, and I right-click on an item to delete or copy it. Then, my computer freezes up [background is unresponsive, start-menu and taskbar not working], but my mouse still moves. I try and open up my Task Manager, but it says that it's "been disabled by the Administrator" or something like that. So at that moment, I'm forced to restart my computer. I did two virus scans over the past two days, and I found trojans called "W32/Sality!mem". It's infected the explorer and DISABLETASKMGR, and many other programs. The scanner [Mc-Afee] deletes/cleans it, so I expected for the problem to be gone. But it's still annoying me! Any help out there? |

Re: Task Manager is disabled. Windows Explorer is unresponsive.
If you know exactly when the issue started occurring i would do a system restore to right before it happened and even tho mcafee said it cleaned it is it still on your system

Re: Task Manager is disabled. Windows Explorer is unresponsive.
Frequently malware changes settings etc... before the anti-virus software can get rid of it. This is the 3rd post today I've read here that has similiar-sounding problems, where the mouse works, but other functions do not.
