Java 1.6.10 installation/uninstallation refusal
Summary: It all happened yesterday when I re-installed my Windows XP Professional SP3 when I installed Java. The first installation was a success, but I noticed I downloaded an outdated version of Java Runtime Enviornment, so I headed back to where I downloaded Java the first time, and downloaded the newest version.
I'll just let the screenshots talk at this point.. NOTICE: Problem is currently occuring on my newly installed Windows XP Professional SP3. Screenshot 1: ![]() Image Description: Yes, this is prior to the beginning of the birth of a potentially awesome software utility on your Operating System.... Screenshot 2: ![]() Image Description: Unfortunately, as with all things, problems can occur before you least anticipate them. (Despite a previous version of Java already existing on my Operating System, the warning still pops-up. Annoying, eh?) Scrreenshot 3: ![]() Image Description: Unfortunately, as with all things, problems can occur when you least anticipate them. Well, there you have it. Problems seem to moreso befall me than anyone else, and Java is seamlessly furthering my disgust. I need the latest version of Java Runtime Enviornment to perform some vital tasks I need done to help transfer my files from my previous installation of Windows XP onto my newest installation. Also, I would prefer more than one possible solution. I'm mentioning this because if one things fails to operate or run in your favour, you deserve to have a multitude of possible solutions incase your previous options are failed attempts, and to show encouragement to the said person(s) who request assistance. Refrain from asking the questions presented to you below. Potentially Frequently Asked Questions 1. Q: If the previous version of Java installed functionally before, then what's preventing you from installing them again? A: As anybody who has asked this question before, you would understand that new software updates are released, providing substantially new bug fixes and functionality to the general public. These help ensure that any problems that were submitted to the developers are rectified. Java Runtime Enviornment is no different, which is why I prefer the latest version. End of story. 2. Q: Can you wait until a new version is released? A: Why would I? And by asking that question, it showcases your lack of knowledge regarding to my issue. It would've been better by standing aside and allowing a technician or someone else who CAN provide assistance, while you sit there; watch and learn. Last edited by Mordicai; 11-07-2008 at 10:01 PM.
