hotmail virus?

Hi all,

I would be very grateful for any replys....

I think my hubbys email was infected with a virus??? there were numerous emails from the same source......offering cheap electronic goods... and apparently this mail was also sent to everyone on his contact list well I deleted all those mails and by doing this all his msn contacts dissapeared also Is there anything I can do to retreive them?

Re: hotmail virus?

Contact Hotmail and tell them your problem. They should be able to help you.

Re: hotmail virus?

Thanks for your reply Phinney

I was hoping one of the Techs on here would have been able to offer a solution but it seems not

Will contact hotmail and see what they have got to say. I thought hotmail scans your mail before you open it.

Thanks again Phinney

Ok.... no input from hotmail so heres the 2nd part of my query.Hope someone out there can help.

I've done an AVG VERSION 8 Scan on my hubby's settings and found
msnportal.112.207.net.7225be6f I moved it to the vault did another scan and everything was clean but as soon as I opened msn and closed it again I did another scan and it was back again!!! Is this a virus?? can anyone tell me how to permanently get rid of it? Please, Many thanks in advance.I am not very computer literate so simple terms would be appreiciated

Also I deted messenger and reinstalled but still the problem persists
