Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

Is your audio lost and you have no sound heard when the Flash video is played on another third party or external sites or blog that embedded these Youtube and other sites’ videos, or is it directly from Youtube?

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

OK - I'm trying the Open Windows Media player, tosh9i, and have got as far as pressing the DVD tab and then clicking on the advanced box - there is an output on the left side at the bottom (is this the one I press?) because when I do, I can't see a down arrow to click beside (AS is (no change). I've very sorry about this - been looking all over for it!

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

Geekgirl, thanks - when I connect to youtube directly to watch say "The Equalizer - a Tribute" there is no sound where there was sound before. No sound either on AOL video's such as advertising (directly accessing them I would assume because I would have just logged on) Thanks very much for your help all the same.

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

This is a very long thread, and although I have read through it breifly was this offered yet as a solution?

Download the FixNoFlashSound.reg registry registration files. Double click on the downloaded file, and confirm the pop up to apply and merge the values to the registry. The imported registry file basically reset and remap the sound drivers in Windows.

Hi Mcninjaguy - I am afraid I am not very computer literate but I've looked at the files you've supplied. What do they mean?

Hi Geekgirl - I logged on to the website and this is what it said:

Downloading is currently impossible, because the link generated for your IP address 195.93.21.98 is now obsolete, please, get a new download-link

If you consider this to be a mistake, please send the following message to our support department.

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

Geekgirl - I can't download it but I can copy it and paste it to a text editor. I am not sure of the process though (being the dunce that I am) but if you explain it to me step by step, I would be extremely grateful.

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

It is a reg file, To use the Regedits you have to Save the REG File to your hard disk most times the desktop. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

He obviously has others issues than the audio one we are discussing here, can you d/l anything at all onto the system KM?
Has the SFC been ran? Maybe a Repair Install as a last resort as this is getting no where. There are however certain steps to take if trying a Repair Install, please advice if you are wanting to take this route.

Re: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote

OK - I do not think that I properly downloaded tosh9i's program he kindly sent me yesterday (or if I did what he instructed correctly) for the simple fact that I am not well versed with these computers. I do not know how to copy the files to the PC because I do not know what a registry file is. If I had step by step instructions of how to merge these fixes with my computer, then it would be simple for me. I can copy and paste the information onto wordpad (or notepad) but from there I haven't a clue (not even what to save it as .reg something - I don't understand this!) - I'm sorry to be such a pain but I am not well versed with computers such as yourselves and I must tell you all that I am, all the same, grateful to everyone (especially to tosh9i) for the help and hours you have all put into this baffling problem.
