Computer restart and bootng problems

My computer is currently experiencing problems. When i turn it on, after a few seconds it will just shut down. Sometimes i get up to my desktop and ican continue using my computer as normal but then it will restart 5-10 mins after i turned on the computer. Also once the computer shuts down i cannot turn it back on. If you can please help me, it will be greatly appreciated

Re: Computer restart and bootng problems

Hi

when it shuts down in windows does it run the log off/power down screen? if so it might be a problem with your power button on your case.

Re: Computer restart and bootng problems

well if not a computer pro either (more like adept) but yes, but if your still under coved by the computer maker you may just want to give it to them to sort out since opening your pc could void your cover. Else just take of the cover off and look at all the connections and maker sure none of them are loose and if you see any build up of dust under the fans give it a clean with a can of compressed air that you can get from most computer shops

Re: Computer restart and bootng problems

It could be an overheating problem. What are your CPU temps and which CPU are you using?

Re: Computer restart and bootng problems

Check that your CPU fan is connected properly. Also try another clean up.

Re: Computer restart and bootng problems

I would replace your CPU cooler, my unit normaly runs around 22C. I remember back in the day building a computer and forgeting to plug in the cpu fan (everyone has some dumb luck). Anyways their was a safety and you may be croaching your safety point where it automacily shuts down your unit. You may be croaching your saftey limit for a number of reasons, maybe your cpu coolant paste is getting old or got air in it. i would replace it and see if that works 44C isa little high.

+1

Some Intel fans are hard to secure properly, I had to fix one where you had to turn the screws the opposite way to the arrows :S
