![]() Running Win.XP Pro. Ser.Pk.2 on HP Pavilion NBpc dv5000 series. May29,08 had major crash, had to insert CD-ROM OS, after startup, Outlook Express6.0 would not allow signin.(reseived ErrorNumber 0x800CCC90 &92, now after gumpin thru hoops, I can get in receive mail, but can't send(get ErrorNumber 0x800CCC78) Went to Start> Run> typed 'cmd ' > OK> in C:\Windows\sysrem32\cmd.exe, typed:telnetpop.tiscali.co.uk110> enter, and received (the info thus submitted) is not recognized as an internal or external operable program or batch file. Was supposed to logon to the server, but nil. Should mention I have a wireless network setup(Comcast modem, Linksys router) went to Internet Connetions> hit wireless network2>right click> properties> clicked Client for MS Networks> OK, and no change. Is there a good soul out there that can afford me right guidance? Would be most greatful!!! |

Re: Crazy with OutlookExpress
Do you know what caused the original crash? I'd be tempted to uninstall outlook and try an open source/freeware equivalent. Why not try http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/thunderbird/?

Re: Crazy with OutlookExpress
Good idea to try another mail client, but is the server addresses in OE mentioned correctly?
Check in your account properties , under servers if the Outgoing Server requires authentication is marked. Another thing will be to disable firewall |

![]() Hey friends, funkmunky, blasteyes, thanks for weighing in. 1st.I haven't tried mozilla, will look into the link provided. Thanks for that. I did click on TCP/IP> clicked install> selected Netclient Client service for NetWare> restated system. This didn't resolve my issue. As previously stated tried solutions from MS.Help & Support(downloading updates ect.) Whent thru all the moves offered by a tech. from HP to no avail.Used their website(HP) Help & Support>Tools> I ran System Health scan>ran Hardware Diagnostics >Processor> IDE harddisk (C:/& D:/)> Memory>PCI bus & a number of other moves. The app.'OLE', is OEM which leavs me to wonder if uninstalled, how to reinstall without creating another delema. Question: If the program OLE, is right clicked>Properties> target, what abbreviation could one type in to clean or fix? e.g.highlighting 'msimn.exe' & replacing with what, if at all possible? |

![]() Sorry all, forgot to answer what caused the crash. It was my blatant stupitdity, when i loged on, screen went to guest acc. insteasd of mine-admin. so i pulled the plug, pror to that, when the system froze-up(& it froze quite a bit,) i'd kill the power.Wont be doing anytime soon anymore! That's the culprit.hope this was useful. And i really appreciate the time & effort in reaching out to me!!! |
