How to uninstall a program that can't be found on Add/Remove programs
Hi there. I installed a game on my Windows XP computer, and while installing the program, the computer hang up. I waited couple of minutes but the computer still hang up. I rebooted the computer. After rebooting, i finished the installation process.
When I decided to remove the game that I installed, I can't find it on the Add/Remove program on the control panel. It is not listed there. The CD that I used in installing the program doesn't have an Uninstall file to be use to removed the program. Please help. I really wanted to remove this game because it consumes a lot of space. I hope someone can help me. -Smallville1985 |

Re: How to uninstall a program that can't be found on Add/Remove programs
Hello Smallville1985
![]() You could try reinstalling the program into the same folder, then uninstall through Add/Remove Programs. If it will not reinstall, try using the Windows installer cleanup utility to remove the install/uninstall information for that program from the registry. Then reinstall and uninstall from add/remove should work. Windows installer clean up utility: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;290301 Be sure to read the instructions carefully. ONLY remove the entries for that program Then delete the folders for it on the hard drive If that does not work a) Start/All Programs Find program (if it is there) and hover mouse over the name. If you are lucky a menu will pop out with an uninstall option in it b) Search in C:\Programs for program. Open the folder and search for an uninstaller. It will usually start with "un*****". You will have to search in subfolders too. .
