Sound malfunction on windows XP
Hello.
My sound has become distorted and fiddling with the volume control panel doesn't help. I have a Realtek AC'94 Sound chip. My speakers are built into the monitor. Is there a way to fix this problem? |

Re: Sound malfunction on windows XP
1.)Try changing the hardware acceleration settings.
2.)Obtain updated audio drivers. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...vice/0067.mspx |

It could also be that some joker set your pitch bender in your Realtek control panel all the way up?

You should get your hands on something called poledit. Windows 2000/XP has a built-in policy editor, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to disable specific control panels with it.
It is my understanding that the policy editor for Windows 98 works fine (poledit.exe) on Windows 2000/XP and you can disable the Realtek AC97' control panel to prevent this little joke from being played on you in the future... Oh wait, I found some for you: Windows 2000 Windows XP Windows XP SP2 Windows 2003
