Re: Sound gone - no mixer devixes available.
Do you know which update it is? You can uninstall that update and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you can decide if you want to just not install that update.

Re: Sound gone - no mixer devixes available.
Hi snnncts,
Sometimes this will work. Go to the Device Manager and delete the audio tree. Reboot and let Windows discovery new hardware and install it with a driver. If you then have the yellow mark, use the Audio CD to reinstall the drivers. If it is still a SP3 issue, I think I have some info on removing it, will have to look it up. There have been issures with SP3 and AMD processors. Hope this helps, Mack1

Re: Sound gone - no mixer devixes available.
Hi snnncts,
Look in System Information and see if it lists any conflicts with your audio. Make sure the audio device is seen there. Expand the branch and see if all the CODECs are OK. You can't do any repairs there, but it might point to an offending interrupt, or something. Best regards, Mack1

Re: Sound gone - no mixer devixes available.
All of my codecs are fine but in sound device it says there is an error with conexant high definition audio.
Also in problem devices there is a list of microsoft kernel audio devices all with the same error (code 39) |

Re: Sound gone - no mixer devixes available.
Hi snnncts,
I think the error 39 simply means Windows couldn't load a driver. You may have to download several versions of the driver, unzip them is required and place them in a folder. Then go to the Device Manager and rightclick on the audio device and pick "update driver". Select the method that will "let me pick the driver" and navigate to the folder with the drivers in it. Sequentially try the drivers until you find one that will work. Hope this helps, Mack1
