Partitioned hard drive is giving the wrong info

i have a partitioned hard drive of which contains C: and D:

D: is the one i am having problems with. all it contains is 'my documents and settings' but there is nothing in them (with the exception of the stuff windows wont let me delete)

when i right click on the drive in my computer it says 24GB has been used when i know for a fact that only 568MB has been used!

I have tries error check, virus scanning with ESET anti-virus, CCleaner and there are no hidden files or folders

my question is how can i either: move my documents and setting to the C: drive (like it should be) and then be able to delete the D: partition

or do something to the D: partition that will get my space back that i so desperately need!

please help me!
thanks
