Partitioned hard drive is giving the wrong info
i have a partitioned hard drive of which contains C: and D:
D: is the one i am having problems with. all it contains is 'my documents and settings' but there is nothing in them (with the exception of the stuff windows wont let me delete) when i right click on the drive in my computer it says 24GB has been used when i know for a fact that only 568MB has been used! I have tries error check, virus scanning with ESET anti-virus, CCleaner and there are no hidden files or folders my question is how can i either: move my documents and setting to the C: drive (like it should be) and then be able to delete the D: partition or do something to the D: partition that will get my space back that i so desperately need! please help me! thanks |

Re: Partitioned hard drive is giving the wrong info
(1)i'm running xp and the the headings in 'My Computer' are 'total Size' and 'Free Space'. What does yours show?
(2)when you defragment 'D' what is in the report regards to volume information |
