[SOLVED] Microsoft One care removal

This is getting irritating.... I recently found some Trojanhorses that AVG free was letting in so I tried several different AntiVirus trials to see what my options were. Norton and One care were the most successful but I didnt like their functions. Soooo... I removed them once they got rid of the trojans. But now Im missing alot of my free space on my harddrive and I got all these leftover One care files that I cant delete. Its says access is denied cause the program is no longer in use. Should I try reinstalling it, deleting all those files and then use windows clean up to get remove one care???? The files are log files, database files, clientSD files and bin files. I installed it three or four times in all my pissin around now I have One care (3), One care (4) and so on. and I just want to clean it up.

Also... Whats a really good Anti-virus trial that will protect and scan for trojans AND Adware\spyware. Right now I have AVG 8 and Lavasoft on here. Thinking about buying Spydoctor.

How can can I clean this thing up better. Ive tried removal utilities and everything I know of. Scratching my head....

Re: Microsoft One care removal

Just re-install the programs that you are having trouble removing and then use add/remove programs to try to remove them again, if you are still having trouble after that then please post back.

Re: Microsoft One care removal

Didnt work... just left me with another stubborn file.

I even tried renaming renaming the files... unsuccessfully.

Then I tried File removing software.... didnt work either.

When I tried to delete this files into the recycle bin it says:

Access is denied_Make sure disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.

I dont get it because Ive already removed the actual program and now my computers SUPER slow...

Re: Microsoft One care removal

I got it FINALLY....

Now the only thing I m wondering is what Anti Virus software I should buy... I dont want to spend money if it aint good stuff. I need something that will protect against, scan and detect Spyware\Adware AND Trojan\Backdoor viruses..... Is Spydoctor any good? Or what would you suggest??? AVG free and Lavasoft are not cuttin it!!!

Re: Microsoft One care removal

I marked it as unsolved for you, you can change that yourself in your own threads if you use the thread tools at the top of your thread.

I'll see if I can take a look at your new thread some time this week.
