PlayCenter could not find the necessary hardware?!! HELP

I reformated my computer today and this message would come up when i try to play a song, I checked device manager and I dont have any known sound cards besides some drivers

"PlayCenter could not find the necessary hardware or drivers to execute properly. Make sure your hardware and frivers are setup correctly."

go to the creative download section and d/load the software and drivers for the card and install them
this will tell you what card you have

if you are using onboard sound the driver will be on your m/b setup disk or on the asus d/load page for your m/b AC'97 is onboard
if you have a creative sound card you need to know which one

I went to your link and couldn't find the Manufacturer : ASUSTeK Computer Inc, also what do you mean by "creative sound card"?

platcentre is the creative software for their cards which would indicate you have a creative sound card
they produce a number of cards and specific drivers for each card
so you need to know which one you have
have a look on the card
AC'97 is an onboard sound chip and being as you have a asus m/b you can get the driver for this from asus by going to the download page for your specific m/b

you put your m/b details in the search box on the left and search for your m/b then go to the d/load page

umm I dont have the original box of my sound card do I have to open up my computer and look at the it or is there a program that can find it? If there is please send me the link thank you again for helping me out with this
