Problem with screen
Hiya,
I were fooling around in windows and set the Hz to 100, allthou the recomendd value were 85. Anyways, now i cant get a picture in windows (black screen). I've searched hours for a resolution and I tried to start it in Secure mode but it wont work. I spam my f8 when its startin up and all i get to i this Boot menu, and there i can only choose between Harddrive and CDROM. And the keyboard wont work when i try to use my arrows. As you can see I got no idea what im doing and would love to get some help! //helpless newbie. |

Re: Problem with screen
Have you tried clearing the CMOS properly, by jumper or button. Sometimes with removing the battery, you need to leave it out for 15 or 20 minutes before it actually clears. Fred.

Re: Problem with screen
There are 2 ways you can reset your bios.
1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete. Fred 2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete. |
