out of control mouse
every so often my mouse will lock up
or it will go crazy and open up all sorts of windows untill it will throw me off line. i then have to reboot and the problem will go away for a while and then it will happen again. i did all the scans and they say i have no malware. i have changed out the keyboard and mouse and the problem continues? ![]() |

Re: out of control mouse
Hmm, i'm unsure of what would cause this, other than some prankster etc. You don't by any chance have any form of VNC server installed do you? because it could just be someone messing with you.
Anyway, if you can't find the cause then i suggest that you read this thread and follow the instructions: IMPORTANT - Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help (Just incase it is malware based) Exactly what happens when it "goes crazy"? How long ago did it start happening? Have you tried hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del when it happens? How often does it happen? Post back with more info. Cheers, Jamey |

Re: out of control mouse
i have been thru all the malware scans over here my step results and log
Exactly what happens when it "goes crazy"? it will do one of 2 things either it will lock up and refuse to move, it will mostly happen when i'm loading a page or a pic or video or it will open up new windows like crazy on every movement it will make the more i move the mouse the more windows will open untill it will throw me off line it will go days and not happen or it will happen 10 or more times in a day. when it happens i have to reboot then it seems to go away for a while. How long ago did it start happening? its been going on for about a year now Have you tried hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del when it happens? yes and it doesn't do a thing, most of the time i have to shut down or pull the plug and reboot How often does it happen? it could go a couple of weeks without happening or it can happen many times in a day no rhyme or reason to the amount of times or when it will happen. You don't by any chance have any form of VNC server installed do you? not sure what that means,i'm on aol it seems to be in my aol also as it will mess up some settings (it will switch the dial up and broadband settings around) when i go to sign on when i have reformatted it seems to go away from the aol and computer for a while then it will return to mess it up again. i was very suprised that i didn't have any malware to be found? |

Re: out of control mouse
Hey, it seems you're getting a load of help in the HJT log help forum, i can't think of what would be causing this so i can't help. Hope it all gets sorted(by those helping in the HJT log help forum).
Cheers, Jamey |

Re: out of control mouse
for some reason i still thiink its malware of some kind.
it will even happen when i reformat before windows gets loaded. sometimes it will get real bad and make the computer unusable then i will get frustrated and reformat then it will go away only to come back sooner or later. i have the feeling it is embeded into my aol software somehow or thats my best guess ???? |
