Re: Computer Freezes

thats a pretty power consuming card...
Might be related to your issue..im sure dai knows more than me, but i would try and get hold of a stronger one..say 650+ and test that, bundled psu's apart from like lian li cases are pretty weak.

Vista or XP?

Re: Computer Freezes

XP Pro, and I have been running this video card for the past 5 months. Tho I recently installed a wireless card as I moved to the computer away from the Modem. Maybe not enough power for everything?

I hope you don`t have both of them running in the background at once.
That can cause problems

Dunedin is apsolutely right. If you have two anti-virus programs that could be the problem. Sometimes Windows XP could not even start because they are in conflict with each other.

Re: Computer Freezes

OK then so it is not an antivirus conflict.

Have a look at the Wireless Card in Device Manager to see if there is a problem with it.

Right click My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager/Network Adaptors. Is there a yellow splat? Do you have the latest driver for the card?

Remove the card and run the system normally and see if the problem goes away.

It could well be that the 500W power supply is not big enough.
Please post the temperatures and voltages which dai asked for

Re: Computer Freezes

If your Power Suply is some kind of 'made-in-china' supply then I could tell you that you 100% do not have those 500W :)
Because in my country there are loads of those so-called china Power supplies and every then and now people is coming to my work and telling me that their PC suddenly freezes or lost power or stop working or something like that.
tell us what make/model is your PSU. You have Graphic Card 8800 overclocked that eats power but you said be4 that it is random freezing right?
