Please Help! I can't Boot From CD to repair Xp :(

Recently my computer DIED and a blue screen was flashing but I readied it, and understood that I need to repair my computer as I did last time. Now I have a copy of win xp and a original vista. I added the BIOS boot meny as cdrom first but I cant boot

I thought that something was wrong with the cdrom but when I inserted the vista cd it started :( What should I do? Please help guys.

hi kidblogger,

you mean you cannot boot using the XP CD but boots OK with Vista CD/DVD? have you tested your XP CD in another computer if it can boot there? i say this because you mentioned that the XP is a copy and sometimes, the 'copies' do not work well.

Yeah thats what I mean. I haven't tested the cd in another computer but the vista cd runs well :( what should I do?

try to use an original XP CD first.

Whats the difference between the original and this cd? :P It should work the same even it's a copy. Can someone help me?

hi,

sorry for the confusion. just to clarify; what i meant was, sometimes 'copies' do not work as expected. at this point, it is very unlikely to say that it is your drive that is malfunctioning since it can read the DVD. given that, it is best if you can test with an original XP CD or you try your copy of XP in another computer just to narrow down the list of possible causes.

my win xp disk insnt bootable so i got the six xp boot disks from microsoft support it takes alittle time to boot up considering that you have to insert six 3 1/2 in floppys but it works dont install vista it sucks
