Re: XP Startup Problem
As I said I have about 6.5 GB of music alone, if I zip that up will it shrink substantially?
I may compare flash drives to DVD-R's. My flash drive is only 256MB (it was one of the first ones available) so an upgrade might be best anyway. My computer came with Roxio RecordNow which I believe is my DVD burning software, so that shouldn't be an issue. |

Re: XP Startup Problem
Rocetmal,
If your music is in MP3 or iTunes format, it's not going to shrink down much more that it already is. That said, burning to multiple recordable DVD media is going to be your best bet. I would also consider purchasing an external USB hard drive. You can get a 40-60GB external USB hard drive in the $40-$50 price range. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=%2425+-+%2450 - John |

Re: XP Startup Problem
hello
two things come to mind >>>> for what thats worth #1 >>>>> I would scan your system with the trial version of Avast ....... that AV program can scan yoru system in safemode ! #2 rather than back-up the drive, I would purchase another cheap hard drive >>>>> used on ebay if money is tight use the new hard drive to make a fresh install >>>> from there you can import yoru programs and data as you see fit I dont care for Norton very much, when you uninstall norton it can really wig a system out, thats the reason why I abanodned norton a long time ago, IMHO any AV program worth its salt shouldnt need an "uninstall too" thats why any of the AV programs the fellas here have suggested are a FAR better option for you AVG makes a good freebie AV Bitdefender Avast NOD has a trial period one IMHO the freebies are never as good as the pay for versions, best $30.00 you will very spend !!
