[SOLVED] Getting Rid Of Avast

Problem is -- it contains ASWCMNB.DLL.
I've searched the file name and I'm not getting any answers, other than it seems not to be a Windows essential.
But I keep on getting a pop-up box which is denying access when it gets to that part of the recycle bin process.

Any suggestions?.

Hi Rob, Welcome to TSF!

Please read this... http://forum.avast.com/index.php?boa...;threadid=5938 and see if it helps.
It looks as though Avast™ are aware of this issue.

Kind Regards,

Re: Getting Rid Of Avast

I gather you want to uninstall Avast. Try this uninstaller. Others have had great success with it.

Re: Getting Rid Of Avast

Welcome to TSF....

If you have tried un-installing Avast and it was not successful I would suggest to re-install to the same location and then reboot and try the following FAQ from Avast

Re: Getting Rid Of Avast

Thanks for the help.
I had used revouninstaller. Instead of its usual routine it deleted just the icon very quickly. The directory and all its files was still there.
I re-read the forum link. I had previously seen it and noted all entries were dated 2004.
However when I went to the Avast! site, I found an uninstaller which I downloaded...and it worked!!
