Entire computer freezes after restart.

Hi.
Recently my entire computer has been freezing up at random points. The mouse is frozen, if I press caps lock or scroll lock on/off my keyboard lights wont turn off/on. I know the entire computer is frozen and not just dodgy usb ports because at one time when it happened I had iTunes open and the music went for about 3 seconds after the mouse froze and then just keeps repeating a very short clip of the song. I have updated windows and that stopped it freezing for most of today but this afternoon it started again and every time I restart it stays un-frozen for even less time.
I would really appreciate it if someone could help me resolve this problem.

Either your comp is too hot or is on very low resources.
How many HD space you have?

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

The free space might be a problem because there is only about 1-2gb left. But the entire hard drive has been partioned into 4 different windows. One was very recently formatted and it was having the same problem after the format but when windows updated it has seemed to have fixed itself. But the portion I am using still freezes (it has been updated as well). Oh, I forgot, about 3 days ago the computer crashed and on restart it had a beeping sequence. I have had this about a year ago and turned out to be faulty ram. So it might be something in the computer is overheating.

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

Try starting it in Safe mode and letting it Run for a while and see if it still freezes. If so it is possibly hardware., heat or Psu going bad..

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

th heat could be causing the pc to malfunction. check the fan behind the pc tower is it very dirty if so it needs cleaning. go to the bio by pressing f1, del, or tab or even f10. depending on you manufacturer and check the temperature it should be about 50 up to 60 anything higher is cause fo concern. and you will need a new heat sink and fan system. also while in windows click ctrl alt del to get to to task manager go to process click the cpu button and check what is using the most cpu. it could be a virus or another program using too much resources and this could be ended.

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

I haven't been on the Pc today yet but my brother has cleaned out all the dust (he said there was a lot) and I have tried checking the cpu but nothing is using anything too large.

Hopefully cleaning it out has fixed it...

Windows use the free space a in the same partition containing the os as virtual memory. Make sure you have free space for the partition containing OS.

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

Yeah, I was referring to that partion. It only has 1-2gb free space, the others have from 30gb upwards. I am thinking of formatting soon as well.

My System

Re: Entire computer freezes after restart.

My PC does similar things when my all-in-one is on before I start up. As soon as I turn it off and reboot all is good. Maybe make sure the unneccesary USB ports are unplugged and try to restart and see what occurs. I am a novice so please excuse this advice if it is too simplistic or misinformed. Good luck.

Eek!! If that's the partition where Windows is installed, that's barely enough space for the swap file to work!! Asking for trouble, even if the cleaning did help resolve some problems.

Use a disk manager (like Acronis) to (re)allocate some additional space to the C:\ drive.
