Computer super slow on start-up

Anything I can do to speed it up?

Win XP with Service pk 2......dunno what else ya need to know.

how much ram dose your computer have because servise pack 2 needs 256mb ram but runs best on 556MB ram

Hello, try start>run>type "msconfig", then clicking the start-up tab, this will give you a list of processes that start when your computer is started, uncheck them to keep them from running on start-up, to see which processes are which goto ProcessLibrary.com and type the process names there, it will give you a small description on what it is, personal experience shows that most of the names are self-explanatory ... good luck, I hope this helps some.

I have 1 GB of ram. So thats not the problem. :)

I do have ALOT of processes running, but I dont know what 1/2 of them are, or what they do. Help?
