Windows Media Player 10 using all my ram memory

Can anyone tell me why out of no-where when i use windows media player it uses all my ram memory. And even when I close the program, it still runs in the background and still uses all my memory. I have to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to close the program manually.
I have windows xp, dont recall adding any other program lately.
I have scan my computer with
Ad-ware
CC-cleaner
Free Registry Cleaner
Avg 7.5
Spybot
Any none of these seem to find anything wrong.
Please help.

Download and run VLC Media Player. WMP is bloated and even sends personal information back to Microsoft when you run it.
