windows logon problem

hi guys
i recently installed wifi a(netgear) and then started getting a logon screen which didnt require a password and could be bypassed.

i was then advised to use run-control passwords2 to stop this happening, a user name (which im pretty sure was administrator) came up and a insert password box and a confirm password box came up which i inserted my new password.

on restart i come to another login box which came up in gray with administrator and password (same number of figures so im guessing it was the one i used) but could not log in getting the message "the system could not log you on. make sure your user name and domain are correct, then type the password again etc"

i am completely stumped as i cant get into my pc to do anything so would really appreciate some advice.
thanks in advance
