Re: Wallpaper covering the toolbar

That didn't work. I gotto the line asking for the input, and I input sfc /scannow including the space, but it just kept repeating the input prompt line. I would put it in again, and the prompt line would reappear.

Re: Wallpaper covering the toolbar

That didn't work. Typed it in with the space, but it kept going back to the prompt line. Is there a command I can put in to go to the control panel? Or to a system restore?

Re: Wallpaper covering the toolbar

Sorry - trouble posting. That didn't work, but I went back to safe mode and I think it's doing a scan now. Is there a command in the task bar to send it directly to the cotrol panel?

In the run box, just type
Code:
control
and it should load your control panel

Re: Wallpaper covering the toolbar

What about the control panel?

I'm afraid I am running out of ideas. It appears as though the main file in windows has been deleted. You may be stuck doing a repair install of windows. This would keep all the files on your PC and would replace the core windows files. You would have to reinstall all security updates also.

Re: Wallpaper covering the toolbar

Did you ever manage to get into the control panel through safe mode?
In the run box type
Code:
appwiz.cpl
to get into the control panel.
