HI!!!
I am new to this forum and hope that some one here can help me out. I am running Internet explorer on my laptop and have no colours on the web pages. Everything is just white backgrounds with black fonts. Most of the tabs and other buttons that need to be clicked on to move around the web sites are missing too. I have been thru the whole help section that is in the computer. I have tried to change the colour settings in tool button in IE and I have tried an external monitor on the laptop with the same problem. Any help or ideas would be most appreciated. My operating system is XP home and I have tried to update to IE7 but that not help and had to put it back to IE6 so my parents can use it (they don't like change). Thanks Last edited by thewombat : 12-03-2007 at 04:37 AM. |

Re: No Colours
@ Dhaval002 :
many things to try before reinstalling. And since this is a laptop, unless it's a Dell, reinstalling would mean restoring the factory default installation and loosing all personal files and settings.@ thewombat : hi and welcome to TSF ! Go to start => settings => control panel and open the accessibility options (shortcut : start => run => access.cpl). Go to the display tab and make sure "use high contrast" is unticked. In Internet explorer go to tools => internet options => general => accessibility (at the bottom right) => untick everything and click ok. Then click on the colour button and make sure "use windows colors" is ticked. Click ok then click apply in the general tab. If that didn't help then when exactly did the problem start ? Try pressing F8 when the laptop starts (before Windows loads) and you'll see an advanced options menu. Choose last known good configuration there. If that doesn't work choose safe mode and see if the issue also happens in safe mode. What's the brand and model of your laptop ? What CD's did you get with the computer ? What service pack is installed on the laptop ? Please try all the above solutions first. If nothing worked then go to start => run and type sfc /scannow. Don't do anything while sfc is running, it may take several minutes. Last edited by justpassingby : 07-25-2008 at 09:42 PM. |
