Task Manager won't stay open

When I click to open task manager, it displays on the screen for a few seconds and then automatically closes. I have tried to start my computer in 'safe mode' but the same thing happens when i try to run msconfig... nothing will stay open! I know that I clicked on a link in AIM the other day which I believe caused the problem, the link read: www.angelfire.com/emo2/friends1/bestfriends.scr and through a google search i have seen other people are having the same problem, but i don't know how to fix it. any help would be appreciated-thank you so much for your time!

I recently came across the task manager closing within seconds by itself bout a week ago cleaning a customers pc filled with spyware,adware, VIRUSES.. etc, etc.. Check your virus def. do a full scan in safe mode for viruses, spyware and adware.

I have scanned my computer with everything possible-my virus protection, adaware, housecall, etc. nothing has fixed this problem!

Hay Y Not Try System Restores It Will Restore Your Computer To An Erlier Time It Takes Allot Of Memmory But It Is Worth It
