uninstall shield

Hi, does anyone know what an unistall shield is and what it does? How can I disable it? When I try to install some programs I get a message that says it can't install and that I have to disable the unistall shield. Thank Rick

Uninstallshield is a the uninstaller counterpart of installshield.

What program do you get this error with?
