GeForce 8800 Blue screen
Hello everyone, never posted here before, so if I've left out any key information please let me know...
Basically my problem is: I installed the new spiderman 3 PC game a couple of days ago, and it was perfect. Ran like a dream, no lag, crashes, nothing. A few days passed, then I tried to launch it and it gave me a video card blue screen. I've installed the newest drivers and direct x for my graphics card... all the other games I have are working. It's just the one game that won't seem to run, and every time I run it results in blue screen. This is the error I'm getting ![]() I have a GeForce 8800 GTS, AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual 2.21 GHz, and 2.00 GB of RAM. Any ideas? |

Re: GeForce 8800 Blue screen
Nope. To be honest, I don't think there's much I can do... the 8800 seems to have major compatibility issues, that are being worked out little by little with new drivers. So, until the next driver set comes out, I think I may be stuck on this one.

What are your GPU temps like, is it overclocked or stock? I assume you're using FW 158.22, or the latest to-be-released 158.48? Go to C:\WINDOWS\Minidump and find any files ending in .dmp created very recently and coinciding with this BSoD. Zip them up and attach them along with your next post. |

You have a rootkit infection. Removal instructions.

I tried using that, but when I scan with UnHackMe it says I have no infections. When I used RegRun to "Remove Rustock Rootkit", it gives me this, ![]() then reboots. When it runs itself on boot, it tells me that lzx32.sys doesn't exist. |

Yup, it seems you're infected and that driver is what is causing the BSoD. You'll have varying trouble and most likely will not be able to completely remove it without assistance, as it won't be detected due to being in kernel mode.
I'm not permitted to help with "spyware removal" on here, so head over to the HJT forum on here and the analysts will assist you as soon as they can (be patient please, it's very busy). Have a read and follow this: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...sting-log.html Tell them you have a Rootkit Rustock(a,b,c) - lzx32.sys found by the BSOD logs and post the link given by peterdiva as further assistance for them. ![]() |
