Can not run ActiveX
I can not run any activeX items from IE.
For example when I go to http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm and click on "Scan your PC now" and a pop-up window appears In the pop-up I click on Free Online Scan. A window appears asking "Do you want to install this software" and I click on "Install" The pop-up window now says I should see a yellow where I can select "Install ActivX Content" however the yellow bar does not appear and the scan does not start. This happens on any page where I need t run activeX content. This problem started a week or so after updating my system to SP2 and IE 7. Win XP sp2 IE 7.0.5730.11 |

Re: Can not run ActiveX
Hi JackNunn, welcome to TSF..
it may be an idea to check IEs settings: - Tools -> Internet Options -> Security tab -> Custom level -> Scroll down to ActiveX controls and plugin sub-section Plus, do you have any security software (firewall/anti-virus etc) which may be blocking the controls?

Re: Can not run ActiveX
Wow, I didn’t expect a response this quick. Should have included this in the initial post.
No firewall software and Windows Firewall is off I do have Norton Anti-virus and have tried disabling it but get the same result. The AcriveX settings under Tools -> Internet Options -> Security tab -> Custom level -> ActiveX controls and plug-ins are shown below ActiveX controls and plug-ins Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without promopt - disable Allow scriptlets - disable Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls - Enable Binary and script behaviors - Enable Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player - disable Download signed ActiveX controls - prompt Download unsigned ActriveX controls - disable Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe for scripting -disable Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins - Enable Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting - enable |
