How to transfer only changed & new files?

It always annoys me that Windows XP won't allow you to selectively transfer only new files or changed files. There must be some way to do this. I have a folder on an external backup drive with 180 GB of files, but only about 1 GB of it has been changed (or is new files). It should only take me a minute or two to back up the changed and new stuff - not 6 hours. What to do?

Hi Blade Jones,

There are a couple of ways for you to do incremental back-ups of your Drive/s.

Have a look at the information in these two articles (just click on the links)...

1. How to Backup your boot hard drive

2. How to copy your operating system from one hard drive to another.

Both of these two articles give detailed steps to accomplish what you need.

Hope this helps.

Post back with how you fared, or with any other queries/concerns.

Regards,

Yikes! Don't need a full system backup. I'm just trying to copy contents of one folder. I do frequent backups of audio files that collect into a folder as I record with a multi-track software, but only want to copy the NEW files or CHANGED files.
