Cannot uninstall windows media player

I think my wmp is broken. When i try to remove it from add/remove programs, when you click "rollback" it spends 1 second rollbacking and gives me a "finish" button. Not even a restart button. Even if i restart my computer, it is still there.

I have even tried these: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934372/en-us

wmp is still there. Any suggestions?

Re: Cannot uninstall windows media player

Try using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. As long as you installed the application using the Windows Installer, this utility will remove all the folders, files, registry keys, and entries from your system and allow you to start over with a clean slate.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Locate and run msicuu2.exe to install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.
Locate and launch the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility on the Start menu.
From the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility window, locate the application in the list and click the Remove button.
Once the application has been removed, click the Exit button to close the utility.

Note that it's there on add/remove but not on the other program.

What now?

Re: Cannot uninstall windows media player

Is there anything related to the Windows media player 11 under Windows XP software updates in Add/Remove? Like Windows Media format 11 runtime and windows media player 11? Try removing those first then try rolling back
