Well hit F2 and go to setup and see if the CD is there. then if it is go to F8 and then device manager and see if something is wrong.

Device manager says the driver for the disc drive is missing or corrupted, presumably its been corrupted by the virus

What boot disc? Is there any places online I could download the driver from? It says the drive is TSSTcorp CDRW/DVD TSH492B if that helps at all.

Google it the drivers for CD's are on the xp disk but you can not read the cd so maybe you can find the cd drivers on line I know you can get a boot disk on line I gave you the site.

If you check the properties for the drive it will tell you the name of the drivers that it is using under the drivers tab see if you have another machine that is using the same drivers and copy them to the correct place.
