Youtube Help
It's my 2nd post and already I'm begging for help, lol.
But all jokes aside, please help me. The problem is that when I had my last computer I was using windows 98. It had a very bad virus on It but youtube played perfectly. But now that I have a computer I got from the pawn It has xp on It and youtube keeps breaking up while the videos are playing. By that I mean, I let them load and then when It's fully loaded I press play right? But It will start off playing and freeze around 0:10 and start again at 0:13 and then pause again and the audio will jilt and then freeze at 0:15 and start again at 0:18. I don't know what's causing It to play that way and I've downloaded adobe flash player, WM10 and I had WM11, I have real player, and quicktime, what's wrong with It? |

Re: Youtube Help
hi there,
do you have this problem for any video you watch over the internet, or it just happens on you tube? and does that happen when you play any saved video on your computer? I dont know much about this problem, but try to reinstall flashplayer again, or something else(but dont try it now till someone expert confirms that) try to update your video driver, or probably your video card is installed properly, because i recently updated my video card, and all my video turned to laggy picture, then i fixed it by reinstalling the update.(thats my experience). hope someone expert be with you soon. good luck. |

Re: Youtube Help
If I may weigh in on this I would like to point out that your drivers are a little out of date. You may want to download the updated driver and install. Also, 256 MB system RAM isn't much with Windows XP. You could try to run msconfig and disable everything in the startup tab.
You mention that this PC was purchased from a pawn shop. Were all traces of the previous owner removed? If the pawn shop just bought it and put it out for sale; the previous owner could have had a virus/adware/malware on it. It probably wouldn't hurt to run a malware scan. Good luck. Lydokane

Re: Youtube Help
OKay, where would I find the download to update the drivers? That might help out a lot.
Umm....I don't think so, there are still some stuff in here when I got It that had the previous owners documents and name and things on It. How would I go about finding It all and removing It? Thank you very much for your help Lydokane! |

Re: Youtube Help
Let's see if a driver update fixes the problem first. You should probably create a Restore Point first then go here:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphic...phics+845main& Click on the link: 'Download the Intel Extreme Graphics Driver' and follow the cues. When you get to the download page choose the first one. It is an executable file that should install itself. Try your video and post back with your results. Lydokane

Re: Youtube Help
Click Start | Run and type msconfig in the Run dialog.
When the msconfig window opens click the startup tab and then Disable all the programs in the list. Click OK You will be prompted to restart the PC. After you restart, try your videos again. Lydokane

Re: Youtube Help
It would seem that the previous owner had left quite a bit on that PC. I find it alarming that an owner would pawn a PC that might have personal information on it (i.e. credit cards, SSN, username/passwords). From here I would advise you to download Adaware SE and Spybot Search and Destroy.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/...e_personal.php And http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html Install them and run their scans (best if done in Safe Mode). You should also uninstall any programs on that PC that you don't use. Not only will it free up hard drive space but it might speed up the PC just a little. Once you run the scans and remove unwanted programs it would also be good to defrag the disk. Could you please run a dxdiag again and post the screeshots like you did earlier in this thread. I would like to double check the driver versions to make sure the driver was updated correctly. Lydokane
