Shutting down!

Why won't my PC turn off?

I built my pc around 1 year ago, and as you mind find out it was my first home build :P

So lately, i've been having problems turning off my pc. I go to Start >> Turn off computer >> Turn off, and nothing happens. I wait for 20minutes waiting for it to shut down, and still nothing happens. I've been turning it off using the main power on button on the tower lately as i can't wait for it to turn off that long.

Any suggestions/ideas why?

thanks

Is your computer running slugishly, or is it only on shutdown? It could possibly be a spyware problem.

No, not running slugish. The only thing that seems wrong with it, is that it won't shut down :P

Try clearing the temporary directory. Sometimes a corrupted temporary directory can cause a slowdown in startup / shutdown times. To do this, use the Disk Cleanup utility.
