Firewall/Connection Problem

Last year i took out a subscription for MLB.TV, which basically lets you watch all baseball games live on the web. There was a program called MLB.TV Mosaic, which is basically a program where you have all the live games open in a window. Since last season we had out internet speed upped to 4mb. I open the mosaic the other day for the first time with the new connection and get this:

I spent about 6 hours trying to get the window firewall off, eventually did, and there is no other firewall running.... yet it just won't connect no matter what i try. The games do work, i can watch them in seperate windows, just this app won't connect....

Can someone help?

Are you behind a router? You said it took 6 hours to turn the firewall off- what fire wall are you using?

How about a router...as Andy asked? You may need to forward some ports in order for it to work.

http://portforward.com/routers.htm is a good site to explain how to forward ports in order to use certain applications/games etc. May be worth checking out.

I'm not too familiar with cable boxes so not sure if they have built in firewall capabilities but if they do, that's what you need to do. Though you may need to contact mlb.tv to find out what ports they use.

Lostnumber-
Perhaps take a look here and see if you have things on your end configured right.
Here is the system requirements:
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/help/faq_system_requirements.jsp

Here is a troubleshooting section of the MLB.TV website.
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/help/faq_technical.jsp

You may want to contact their tech support to see if they have experianced this before.

Watching last year is fine and well- they update their software too. That is why I suggested taking a look see. If you have contacted their support and they don't have a clue- then we can proceed with diagnosing the problem.

Have you changed security software as referenced above? Any other possible changes in your computer since last season?
