Remote Desktop LOVE IT !!

Hello,

I use Remote Desktop almost everyday for my work & to deal w/ issues on my parents computer 3000 miles away.
I have heard of but not really looked at some of the other options out there to accomplish the same thing....Freeware if possible!
Any experience, advice, thoughts would be very helpful.
Looking for viewability on the remote computer screen, good security, etc. etc.
thanks,

fmg

www.logmein.com will connect you to any OS across the country, however, it does require some effort on the users end. It is not designed for tech support. There is a free version available.

They do have a product, www.logmeinrescue.com. It is designed for support, super secure and very responsive. This will also connect to any OS. Check out the free trial.

A lot of people use VNC, this is a free program. It requires some effort on the users end as well as they need to install the VNC server. Here:

www.tridiavnc.com

Logmeinrescue is expensive, but by far the best I have found. Especially whe all you have to do to initiate the session is send the user an e-mail.
