xp pro problem..ithink

HI
i am new to this so if you can help please do. I put XP professional on to the computer and now my dvd rw does not work or my sound card. I have removed the dvd-rw and tried it on another computer and it is working fine.
The problem comes when you switch on the computer...it goes to fault menu telling you to reboot from disc...if you diconect the dvd-rw xp loads up just fine and all works good. As i said this was not a problem before we loaded xp professional...any ideas?

What are your specs? You need drivers for the soundcard to work
Right click MY Computer > Properties > Manage
Click on Device Mananger. See if there are any yellow triangles or !!!s

Is the CD still in the drive? Are you talking about "press any key to boot from CD"?
Take the cd out of the drive if this is the case

I know exactly how that feels!

Have you put the boot order back as it was in the BIOS?

Have you installed the mainboard drivers?
