Computer not searching

Hi please help,
i am using an advent 7038 laptop.
there seems to be a problem,
every time i use internet explorer and type in an address it, i am sent to "other websites" some search engines, porn engines etc.....
this is also and mostly happening when i do a search in google and click on the google link.

does anyone have any ideas what i can do to get rid of this
and get my laptop back working properly.

i was going to try and restore to default settings but i have lost the recovery disc. Is there any way i can restore to default settings without recovery disc ? I can't do a system restore because it is not working.

thanks

You are infected by virus nd adwares.....
Download Avast AV free home edition: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Adware : http://www.lavasoft.de/
Firewall: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/conten...7551!7552!NONE

Run Adware nd Avast in the Safe Mode of ur computer...

You have to install these softwares first and then u can run these programs in the Safe Mode... I have said Safe Mode because only limited windows drivers run in it!
I cannot give you surity because everyday new virus comes on the net and it takes lil bit time to make the patch for the AV companies for it......
I would also suggest u to use Mozzilla Firefox with Adblock plus and NoScript add onns for more security because IE is not very much secured browser!

Try running Spybot, Ad-Aware and your AV program in safe mode - it offers a better chance of shifting the malware. Once you have run them, you will be back to normal starts. Clearing malware can be tricky, so it might require various approaches.

Also, try these on-line scans

If none of the above works, you may need some speciaist help - start here:-

It does sound as if your browser has been hi-jacked - you will find more explanation on the above link.
