DVD Driver HELP!

My computer was recently formatted to get rid of the thousands of bugs i had on it. The guy who formatted it though forgot to tell me that i would no longer be able to watch DVDs because i needed to reinstall my DVD driver, but as my computer didnt come with a driver CD, im relatively stuck. Iv bin looking on the internet for one, ive been looking at an IDE Controller because I think that thats what i need, but tbh i havent got a clue. I dont know were to download this from, or whether im supposed to even be looking at this.

My DVD Drive is IDE DVD-ROM 16x, if thats any help

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the driver is part of windows,it is the player software you need to install
i.e.
power dvd

Thanx 4 that Dai, my DVDs work on this new programme but the quality isnt that great both the audio and video are jumpy, and i still cant gett my DVD to work on WMP which tbh i would really want it 2.

I know im being a bit annoying lol

Hi agen, thanx 4 that programme my dvds work on my computer, but on WMP theres only sound playin, theres no video. When i go on error detatils it says that theres no help they can giv me, or sumfin like that. What would you recomend?

The reason i need WMP btw, is bcos i hv a very dark monitor nd thers a brightness tool on it wich allows me to watch stuff at normal quality. So if u kno of a programme that has an option to increase brightness then that cud be an alternative.
