I just formatted my comp and i am trying to reinstall win xp and everytime i get to the install screen the monitor goes crazy. I think it might have something to do with my graphic card but how can I fix it.

Hi Esotocaizer,
When you say the monitor goes crazy, what do you mean? What does it do that it should not and please try to be very specific. Do you have a legitimate self booting OS disk or restore disks that you are trying to use?

It acts like the v hold is messed up like scrolling streams. Tried different monitor. I am using bundle software that came with the comp. It is fine until the windows xp install comes up.

I've experienced something similar on a friends computer during reinstall...couldn't fix it, not matter what I did. In the end, I just relied on memory to get me through each step of the process and after the first reboot, all was ok.
Not sure that will help though :)

When you say bundle software, what brand name computer are we dealing with? Start over. Take the graphics card out and reseat it. What graphics card and motherboard are we dealing with on this unit? Then, go into the BIOS setup menu and make sure that your boot order is set to: CDRom - 1st Floppy - 2nd Hard Drive - 3rd Don't forget to save if you change anything. Note: Have you had any hard shutdown on this unit, like have hit freeze and just shut it down with the switch?
