Winxp home --> Pro, help needed DESPERATLY!
Hey guys, would like to say long time listener first time caller but it just aint so...
Am just about to kill a perfectly good computer and am hoping I dont have to.. Have an IBM thinkcentre, specs shouldnt matter, pentium 4 anyways, and it has xp home on it which has been de-registered. I have xp pro and want to put that on so have tried both a boot disk as well as trying to get it to boot from my xp cd. boot disk loads fine, and installs a cd driver but when it comes to the crunch it doesnt recognise my HDD booting from cd just loads the de-registered XP home... Am seriously at my wits end with this, am kinda tech savvy but have had absolutely no luck at all with xp... thinkin of goin back to the good old days of '98 any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! OzWineDude (yup, I make wine) |

Mac Method Wiz -- Manager

also, lets move this to the win xp section where windows users can help you
.now for my 2 bits. is it perhaps a sata or scsi drive? if so, you must load the drivers in the xp installer before it will see the drive. also maybe because its not a registered copy of home, it won't let you upgrade to pro?
