Windows 7 boot problem
Okay so today I installed Windows XP on a second hard drive to do dual boot with windows 7. I download a program called EasyBCD on Windows 7 and added XP but I couldnt get it to dual boot. Only way I could boot into XP is by going into the bios and setting that hard driver as primary. Now when I tryed to boot back into Windows 7 I got an error saying selecet proper boot device. I'v tryed everything I know to get it to work boot no luck. Right now I only have one harddrive hooked up and its the one with windows 7. My proplem is I cant repair the boot file because Windows 7 startup repair doesn't find the windows 7 installation.

Re: Windows 7 boot problem
Finally I got it to work. For anyone who has the same problem, this is how I fix it. All I had to do is set my hard drive with Windows 7 on it to primary then start up repair will find Windows 7 and repair it. To do this boot from the Windows 7 DVD then select your language then click repair your computer then click next then click on the command prompt. In command prompt type the following:
DISKPART LIST disk SELECT disk # (replace # with the number of the hard driver Windows 7 is installed on) LIST partition SELECT partition # (replace # with the number of the partition Windows 7 is installed on) ACTIVE (<< Marks the partition as active) EXIT (Exits DISKPART) Then close the Window to go back to the install Windows and click on repair your computer. A window will pop up click okay to restart your computer then boot from cd again, go to repair your computer select Windows 7 click next and select the first one to repair the boot file.
