Confused Driver for CanoScan D1250u2f

Hi. I have just discovered my scanner, as above, needs a driver. This seems to be a problem when operating Vista? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Diane

Hi -

Try this driver from the Cannon site -- select Vista for the OS, of course.

It is from 2007....

Re: Driver for CanoScan D1250u2f

Hi. I downloaded the driver from that site - dont know where its gone though. I looked in Control Panel/ Device Manager and couldnt see it there. Anyway, I then tried to reinstall my scanner on this new computer, but still get the message that it cannot find TWAIN driver. Cant seem to get any further with this. I am probably 'not getting it'? Whilst trying to reinstall the scanner, I have it switched off. For some reason I seem to remember that I will be told when to reconnect it? However, not even getting past the first page. This site is great, thank you so much for being there for us non-technical types. Regards, Diane

No such thing as non-technical type.... you're "speaking" with a tax accountant here!!

I would suggest that you connect the device and try the install again. I am rather concerned about the 2007 driver date, per the Cannon site. It may just be too old.

An idea --- download and save the installation file to desktop. RIGHT-click on the properties tab. Select 'compatibility'. Check the box for XP SP2. Then 'apply', 'OK'. Then RIGHT-click on the installation EXE file, select 'run as administrator.

See how it goes.
