windows 7 slow browsing
I have a very annoying problem with windows explorer. When I browse through folders locally I have like a 4-5 seconds delay each time I click, if I access this computer from others on the network, the folder open instantly. I have another computer with the same windows 7 build 7100 and it does not have this problem.
Also when I use a software like ftp software on the problematic computer and I browse locally, it is also instant. so the problem really is windows explorer. what could it be? thanks for any advice. |

Re: windows 7 slow browsing
Hi, I GOT IT!!!
I found a solution. I ran the troobleshooting/check for performance issues and it made me remove unwanted start up app. I also uninstalled any app that I was not really using. And now everything is running smooth again! I had something suspect in my startup called powerreg... |

Re: windows 7 slow browsing
ok very strange... I did not know what to so so i decided to reinstall my computer with the final release of windows 7, So I was backing up files and moving some files from my c: to my d: drive (both of which had plenty of free space) and I erased a few gigabytes from my c: and suddenly my computer which was running slow since a few weeks started navigating at full speed in windows explorer.... really I don't understand what's happening... So now everything is back to normal. but i don't know why at all! and neither for how long...

Re: windows 7 slow browsing
OK NOW I KNOW!
I did a repair of Kaspersky antivirus 2010 and it was the culprit! I have another computer that I thought was browsing normally cause it was faster. But I did a repair on that one too and now it is fast as lightning. When I click on a folder it is instantly opening, can't believe I used those 2 computers for weeks and it took me so much time to notice they were so slow!!! |
