Extend Boot Partiton
Hey,
I have got an 80gb hard drive that was once split into two 40gb partitons, 1 boot (primary partition) and 1 extended (logical drive). I decided to format, then delete the extended partiton and was hoping that i could resize the primary partiton to accomodate the unallocated space. Unfortunetly, I am trying to extend it and keep getting a message in Disk Management saying "you can only extend the volume to the available space shown because your disk cannot be converted to dynamic or the volume being extended is a boot or system volume". The 'available space' is no more then the current size of the partition (40gb). Why are you not allowed to extend a boot partition and if possible is their a solution? |

Re: Extend Boot Partiton
Hi, sadly you cannot extend a boot volume. You could try downloading and using Ultimate Boot CD and some of the partitions tools on it to do this (Partition Manager), but I can't guarantee the PC will boot afterwards
