okay so this flatmate im living with calls me to her room and tells me she just updated windows on her computer and after that she chouldnt access the internet so i tried restarting her computer and then opening internet explorer again which seemed to work for 2 mins( the window jumped out and bigpond.com loaded), after i left for about 2 minutes she said it stopped working again.

this time i wrote down all the errors messages that popped up, when i tried to open explorer a black box opened with no writing and then:
Windows Host Process(Rundll32)has stopped working
CfFnEnabler has stopped working
Problems reports and Solutions has stopped working
Microsoft Offece XP compenet has stopped working
igfxTray has stopped working
Windows Defender Interface has stopped working
Config (forgot word at the end of config)..has stopped working

and also in between alot of those errors repeated themselves.

i then tried to randonmly open programs, such as MS word and itunes, some opened some didnt, itunes, MS word, QQ(chinese version of msn), chess titans opened fine, one program didnt it instead came up with an error message with the name of the program followed has stopped working.

what do u think is the problem can it be fixed? or do i need to install windows again?. is it a windows update problem? as the problems started right after the windows update.

Hi Grave,

To me it either sounds like a virus problem or someone turned the machine off whilst windows was updating.

To solve this, do a system restore, to the date that it last worker (If you have restore points)
