Multiple Services shutting down followed by BSOD
I am getting constant BSOD after a random series of Windows Services shutdowns.
I re-installed Vista 64 as a clean install after formatting through windows. I ran memtest86+ and found no errors I scanned my harddrive for errors, there were none. I re-installed the proper drivers cautiously for apps and Windows I had no problems with windows updates. My computer can run fine for a number of hours and then out of no where this happens and it takes me down. BSOD. I dont know where to begin in this thread. I fix computers as a side job and I have never been through this. Please let me know what information you need to get started and how to get it. One thing i dont know how to do and have never had to do while fixing pcs was read and interprit log files of Blue screens or errors. I dont know how to read them. Please help.. Ok from other posts I follow instructions from: http://www.techsupportforum.com/1871981-post2.html Last edited by reficuldrol; 11-04-2009 at 01:42 AM. |

Re: Multiple Services shutting down followed by BSOD
Hi -
My apologies for the repeated delay. I am running the dumps now. I took special note of the fact that you have 4GB RAM, yet appear to be experiencing ~ 800MB paging activity, somewhat excessive, but not completely out of the ordinary. I found these 3 apps consuming huge amounts of RAM - Code:
eqgame.exe 3856 Console 1 668,012 K Running Coolermaster2\Tommy 0:36:07 EverQuest eqgame.exe 168 Console 1 696,776 K Running Coolermaster2\Tommy 0:36:18 EverQuest eqgame.exe 1628 Console 1 692,076 K Running Coolermaster2\Tommy 0:34:42 EverQuest Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: Multiple Services shutting down followed by BSOD
OK, I found this thread on these forums Application Error -- Faulting application svchost.exe_SysMain
my system is doing the same thing.. from the Administrative events I find that I get this first:: Faulting application svchost.exe_SysMain, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919291, faulting module sysmain.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e04208, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0000000000017610, process id 0x168, application start time 0x01ca619fb7e29f4a. Then it proceeds to shut down multiple processes. It is very random when this happens. Sometimes it bluescreens me and sometimes not. Re: Multiple Services shutting down followed by BSOD
Ok, I dropped down my cpu voltage from 1.5250 to 1.50. So far I havent had these issues or BSOD's and it has been about a week. My computer has been running at fullblast. /crosses fingers
I dont know if tech support gave up on me but looking at a lot of other posts in here, it looks like they dissappear without solutions. I dont know if they are that busy or If they are busy working on solutions but this post is for those who have followed this with similar issues. It appears to be that my previous stable overclock had changed to unstable. I tuned down my cpu voltage a notch. Its not always windows that causes these issues. |
